The Traxxas series rolled into Gateway with the Trucks this week. Dave Daniels made his first start in almost four months. Rob Scarberry won the pole again but tire wear issues with the setup sent him back early. Zach Michael looked to make a charge for the lead but almost spun in turn 2, he was able to save it but wore his tires out in the process. Mark Murphy then took over the top spot with Daniels creeping his way towards the front of the pack. Green Flag pit stops came and Murphy was able to hang on to the top spot but not for long as Daniels walked right around Murphy and set on cruise control. While Michael and Mike Tellier were racing hard for 3rd, Tellier pitted a 2nd time with just 20 to go for fresh tires. Daniels was able to pull out to over a 5 second lead in the final laps and hang on for his 3rd win in the NSRA. Murphy held on for 2nd with Zach Michael rounding out the top 3.
