Daytona was the site of round 1 of 15 for the inaugural Old Spice Cup Series Season. Zach Michael won the pole for the race and lead early on, but it was really anyone's race. The lead swapped hands 24 times among 7 different drivers, both league records. The first caution did not come out until lap 30 when Ron Stout moved in front of Steven Davis and spun. The racing calmed down for the mid point in the race with Rob Scarberry leading a large portion of the race. The caution then came out again when Pete Glover blew an engine. The race was on for fuel mileage with most of the pack trying to conserve. Then with about 14 laps to go, the server crashed, or as we call it, rain. John Griggs was the lucky man leading when the the failure occurred meaning that he won the Daytona (450) 500!

Congrats to John on his victory and see you all Monday for trucks at Iowa and Wednesday for Cup at Las Vegas!

Rockingham Speedway was the site for the third race of the Truck Season. Zakk Miller was not in attendance for the race, leaving the door open for Rob Scarberry to try and take the points lead away from team owner Zach Michael. Zach won the pole with a blazing 24.4 lap. Zach lead most of the race but Adam Simmons was right behind him. After a long run, Mark Guthrie overtook Zach and Adam and looked like he was going to be the winner until a caution came out with 20 to go. Everyone got fresh tires and Zach was able to drive right around everyone. However, another yellow came out, setting up a 5 lap dash to the finish. Zach lead them to green and Mark made up half a second the final two laps but came up one tenth short, giving Zach his 2nd victory of the season!

Congrats to Zach on another win and thanks to all for showing up! See you Wednesday for Gen6 @ Daytona and next Monday for Trucks @ Iowa!

15 Drivers were on hand for the 1st running of the Old Spice Shootout. Zach Michael looked strong early, winning the pole. The first few laps went well until Zakk Miller threw a block on Ron Stout, the field then checked up crashed, taking out Zach Michael, Jonathan Skrabacz, and others. With so many drivers out of the race, the elimination was not needed after Segment 2. The race continued on with Zach Leavitt running 2nd most of the race and Rob Scarberry right behind. Just before the beginning of Segment 3 (The final segment) John Battista's engine expired, leaving just 5 drivers to fight for the win (10 were running but most were down on power due to earlier wrecks). On the ensuing restart Leavitt tried to pass but Miller ran him up the track, then blocked him when Leavitt tried to pass on the bottom. Coming to the white flag Miller moved up and wrecked himself and Leavitt trying to block yet again. Underdog Bill Thomas just got by the mayhem and narrowly beat Ron Stout to the line with 2 to go to taken the caution and the victory ensuring his place in next season's Shootout!

Thanks to all who showed up and congrats to Bill on his victory, see you all next Monday for Rockingham in trucks and Wednesday for the Cup season opening Daytona 500!

The second week of the MDTS is in the books. 11 drivers showed up to try and continue their quest for the championship. Ron Stout looked good early, earning the pole and leading laps. A handling issue as the night wore on lead to Zakk Miller taking the lead. Strategy came into play too. A few trucks pitted with 45 to go, trying to make it to the end. Most stayed out. The longest run of the night followed. Everyone had to pit except for Rob Scarberry, Mark Guthrie, and Pete Glover, all of whom pitted and could go the distance. Plans changed with 6 to go when Pete spun to bring out the caution. It was a 2 lap dash with Rob and Pete on old tires and Zach Michael and Zakk Miller on new tires. Zach drove right around Pete and Rob in turns 1 and 2. A caution came out and the race was over, meaning Zach Michael won at Auto Club!

Thanks to all who showed up tonight and congrats to Zach on his victory! See you next week at Rockingham!!

It was windy, it was cold, and it was slick. Those are the words best used to describe the Pre-Season 250 from Atlanta Wednesday night. 8 entries were on the list to try and win at one of the toughest tracks and in some of the roughest conditions. Zach Michael dominated both practice sessions and won the pole by almost a half second. But slowly working his way up the charts was teammate Rob Scarberry. Zach lead the field to green and was leading until pit stops took place where Rob overtook Zach in the pits. Ron Stout ran well and even lead at one point but poor pit stops cost him a chance at the win. Zach continued leading when the night's lone caution came out just before halfway for Steven Davis' blown engine. Both drivers used their best strategy's to try and win and it was Rob who came out ahead by 2 seconds after the final pit stops took place with 25 to go. However, Zach caught up to Rob and overtook his teammate for 1st and for victory!

Following our 15 driver turnout I have adjusted some portions of the Rating System. We have switched from T3 and T6 to the standard Top 5 and Top 10. This will make it easier to gain points and make it easier to check the stats for errors as NR2003 only tracks top 5s and 10s.  With the Safety Rating, causing one caution is now worth -0.5. So now by causing one caution you will break even, two puts you into the negative. Both ratings have been adjusted to reflect these changes.
