With the season winding down the trucks roar through Thunder Valley in round 6 of 9. Pete Glover showed serious speed in practice but it was Zach Michael who won the pole by just 4 hundredths over Ken Joynt. Zach lead the first third of the race and gave up the lead when he pitted. Rob Scarberry inherited the lead and lead 17 laps before Pete Glover was able to work around him. There was a huge crash on Lap 83 when Austin Jenson hit the wall and Ken Joynt went right into him also collecting Zach Michael and Steven Davis. Most of the wrecked drivers needed lengthy engine repairs. Crews were concerned as to how long they would last. Pete Glover lead for a while but Zach came charging back towards the front and the two battled for the lead for over 20 laps. Zach took the lead after Pete overdrive turn 4. It looked as though Zach was going to cruise to victory but a caution came out, setting up a 1 lap mad dash to the finish. Zach and Pete both got good restarts but it was Zach who got through turns 1 and 2 better. Zach held off a charging Pete Glover for his 4th win of the season. Steven Davis and Austin Jensen got into a heated argument after the race following Jensen sending Davis around in turn 1 on the final restart, It's Bristol baby!!

Thanks to all who showed up, some great close racing tonight. See you all Wednesday for Cup @ Kansas and next Monday for Trucks @ Talladega!!

In week 3 of the Old Spice Cup Series season the cars took to the track in Bristol, TN. Tony Pizzaro was able to find a ride and was off and running early, winning the pole and leading many laps. Zach Michael took the lead on pit strategy when Pizzaro had to pit for tires. Pizzaro passed the pace car and had to serve a pit penalty, this sent him back in the field. Zach Michael held on to the lead until last week's winner Zach Leavitt was able to pass the #14. Pizzaro worked his way back up in the field, reached 2nd place but burnt up his equipment. Zach Michael was gaining on Pizzaro for 2nd but a caution came out with two to go leaving Michael just short of 2nd. Meanwhile, Zach Leavitt won the race and stretched his out his early season points lead.

Congrats to Zach on his win and see you all Monday for trucks @ Bristol and Wednesday for cup at Kansas!!

Bristol, TN --- It is now week 3 of the inaugural Old Spice Cup Series season. The series heads to Thunder Valley this week for what should be an exciting race as it will be the first time the NSRA will race at Bristol. Bristol is a half mile oval. It has variable banking around 30 degrees in each corner. It is a unique track as it is the only track on the schedule that is concrete.  It is still very early in the season to determine the favorites for title contention but we can examine each driver and their current standing.

Zach Leavitt (Leader): Leavitt won his first race last week and after a 2nd place finish at Daytona the previous week, momentum should be on his side. But weather the track will is another story.

John Griggs (-5): Griggs won the Daytona 500k after staying well outside the top 10 most of the day. He finished 6th at Las Vegas. Another victory would prove that Daytona was not a fluke

Rob Scarberry (-7): Scarberry has finished inside the top 4 in both races this season. He will be a playmaker this season, but short tracks have not been kind to him.

Zach Michael (-8): Michael's sheer dominance of the Truck Series has not carried over to Cup. While he is in the chase as of now, a poor finish at Bristol could put him in a deep hole going into Kansas.

Steven Davis (-16): Davis has not finished in the top 5 yet this season and struggled at Las Vegas. He needs to finish well at Bristol, he only holds the wild card spot by 1 point.

Rest of Field: Pete Glover only needs to make up 1 point to be in the chase. Dave Daniels is only able to run part time this season, despite 2nd at Las Vegas last week he will miss Bristol. Tony Pizzaro ran extremely well at Vegas until handling issues forced a DNF. Pizzaro's racing schedule is very much unsure, if he can race Bristol look out.

With the season now past it's half way point, the trucks rolled into the Kentucky Speedway for the 5th race of the season. Ron Stout won the pole but it was Zach Michael who drove around Stout in turn 1 and lead early on. With the race only being 81 laps it was made known early that a few drivers were going hard and early. Rob Scarberry was in tow most of the night behind team owner Zach Michael. Zach and Rob battled with Ron for the lead with 30 to go. Just as the racing was heating up a caution came out. Zach and Rob took 1st and 2nd after pit stops and on the ensuing restart drove away from the field. With the laps winding down Rob tried to pass for the win but could not quite get their as Zach had more speed out of turn 4. Zach held on for his 3rd win of the season and leads the points.

Congrats to Zach for his victory and a big thank you to all 15 drivers that raced tonight. See you Wednesday for Cup at Bristol and next Monday for trucks at Bristol!

In week two of the Old Spice Cup Series season, the drivers took to the track in Las Vegas. Zach Michael won the pole and lead early on. Cautions proved to be problematic early on with the yellow having flown 6 times in the first half of the race. The lead swapped hands frequently during this period with Zach Leavitt and Dave Daniels swapping the lead along with polesitter Zach Michael. What would turn out to be the final restart came with 55 to go and Zach Michael looked like he was going to walk away with the race but Zach Leavitt's tires held up longer and he passed for the lead. Dave Daniels moved up to 2nd and pulled with in half a second of Leavitt but could not make the pass. Michael charged hard to catch Daniels but could not. Leaving Leavitt with the lead and the win. Leavitt now leads the points by 5 over last week's winner John Griggs.

Congrats to Zach Leavitt on his win and thanks to all for showing up! See you Monday for Kentucky and next Wednesday for Bristol!!

It's week 4 of 9 in the 8th season of the Mtn Dew Truck Series. Zach Michael comes in with the points lead, and it could be easy for him to run away with the championship. But teammate Rob Scarberry is close behind. Zach won the pole for the race and the race went with only one caution in the first 110 laps. Adam Simmons continued his momentum from a good run last week and went on to lead quite a few laps but his teammate Tanner Smith took the lead right before the final caution came out. On the ensuing restart Ron Stout ran over Rob Scarberry and the field was under yellow yet again. There was a lot of confusion over who was to line up where and this lead to a delay in the green coming back out. Zach lead the field to green with 4 to go and Tanner moved him out of the way and held off the field to win his first race.

Congrats to Tanner on his win and see you all in Vegas Wednesday and at Kentucky next Monday!
