Traxxas Series: In The End When You Come Around - 24 July 2013

In week 4 of the Traxxas Series inaugural season, the series heads to Road America for the first road course race at the historic venue. Tony Pizzaro came into the race being the only winner at a road course across all three series. Pizzaro won the pole by almost 2 seconds over Mark Murphy and Pizzaro was able to pull away from the field early on. Zach Michael was running 3rd when Alex Crapser overshot turn 3 and spun the #14, Crapser had blown a tire in the incident and had to get a tow. Pizzaro continued leading while behind him it was a hornet's nest with everyone swapping positions. The final restart of the night was going to come with just two laps to go. Pizzaro lead Tex Perry and Michael to the green, but Pizzaro overshot turn 1, allowing Perry to take the lead. Heading into turn 2 Mike Tellier over shot the turn and spun out Kevin Corbat, Corbat having run in the top 5 most of the day was none too happy. Perry lead Michael and Murphy into turn three but Perry overshot turn 3 and while trying to recover collected 2nd place Zach Michael. Mark Murphy was able to just get by the two spinning cars and squeak out of turn 3 unscathed and hung on for the victory.
