In the first race of the season, 15 members from the newly formed NSRA showed up to try and be the first to put their name on the trophy at Daytona! Rob Scarberry captured the pole and track record with a blazing lap of 45.5. Zach Michael led most of the race, leading 32 of the 60 laps total. But it was with 3 to go that Mark Guthrie turned Zach head on into the outside wall sending him barrel rolling down the back. Zack Johnson made his way through the wreck unscathed to win the first race of the season! During the caution laps Zach Michael bumped the back of Guthrie and coincidentally Mark blew a tire. After a very brief discussion both drivers were cool with each other.
From everyone at the NSRA we congratulate Zack Johnson on his victory and sincerely thank everyone that raced tonight. Thanks guys!!
