Truck Series: Double Down In Miami

In the final race of the season, the Truck Series returned to Florida, to run at the Homestead-Miami Speedway. The Championship was pretty much decided coming into the race with Zach Michael holding a 29 point lead over 2nd place Rob Scarberry. Zach won the pole by half a second and lead most of the laps early on. Zach surrendered the lead to Pete Glover when he pitted. Glover lead 15 laps before he lost control of his truck coming out of turn 4, also collecting 2nd place Rob Scarberry. Zach regained the lead for the final run to the finish. Alex Crapser was running right behind the #14 and on the restart passed for the lead on the inside, something not done too often at Homestead. Zach battled back and passed Crapser for good. The caution waved with 3 to go, ending the race and giving Zach the win and his 5th championship. Rob to 2nd place in points with Mark Guthrie taking home 3rd and Ron Stout taking 4th. Finally, Pete Glover was able to get back out on track to hang on to 5th place in points by just 3 points of Steven Davis.

Thanks to everyone who raced not only tonight, but over the course of the season. 31 drivers made at least 1 start during the season, thank you so much for joining on and racing with us. I hope to see you guys back again next season which starts in two weeks at Daytona! Until then we have the Cup Series still going strong with Indianapolis this week and Watkins Glen next week. Thank you all again and see you next season!!
