Traxxas Series: Everybody's Got Poo To Fling Except Me and my Monkey - 26 June 2013

In the second race of the Daytona triple header, the newest addition to the NSRA took to the high banks of Daytona, the Traxxas Series starts with the DRIVE4COPD 300. It was an all Ford front row with Nigel Thiy and Ron Stout, Row 2 was all Chevy with Zach Michael and Rob Scarberry, and row 3 was all Dodge with John Battista and Alex Crapser. Nigel lead the field to green and lead a few laps early on. However, Nigel got loose out of the tri-oval and stacked up the field bringing out the first caution of the night. The race continued with John Battista in the lead and Zach right behind. After some close racing, Kevin Corbat (with a battery backup) and Rob Scarberry tangled out of turn 4 after Scarberry attempted to pass the #42 out of Turn 4. Battista continued to lead and when things were looking good for the Lucas Racing #15, he spun off of Turn 2 and no yellow came out. After Battista went a laps down a yellow was thrown for debris. As the laps wore down Mike Carroll had taken the lead and had a push from Mike Tellier. Ron Stout made his move with a train of 3 cars behind him to try and make a move to win. However, with 3 to go Tellier drifted up into Stout, sending him around and effectively ending Stout, Scarberry, and Michael's chances at a win. Along with John Battista who had just made his way back into the top 5. With no drafting help, Tellier was unable to get around and Mike Carroll was able to hang on for his first career win at the NSRA.
