Traxxas Series: Bold Flavor - 30 July 2013 - National Sim Racing Association

Race 4 of the Traxxas Series inaugural season took place at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Tony Pizzaro won the pole for the event and lead a few laps early on. Tex Perry also was able to get up towards to the lead by staying out under caution. Perry's tire disadvantage cost him as he lost the lead shortly after the restart to Zach Michael. After a caution Michael lead the field to green with Mark Murphy in tow. Michael and Murphy battled for the lead while pulling to a 4 second lead on the rest of the pack. Murphy got by the #14 but by then both were saving fuel trying to make it. Steven Davis caught up to Murphy for the lead and coming off of turn 4 got into the #98, sending him around. Michael re-took the lead on the final restart with two laps to go. Pizzaro started second and powered by Michael for the lead down the backstretch. The two were side by side into Turn 3 but Pizzaro got tight and bounced off the wall, surrendering the lead and win to Michael.

Congrats to Zach on his win, Traxxas is off this week but back in two weeks for Indianapolis!
